Every puppy is up to date on shots and comes with deworming and a veterinary checkup. Puppy toys are included too, and a microchip is available on request.
Puppies are not fully protected after a single shot. They usually receive a series of core vaccinations (covering distemper, parvovirus and adenovirus, and often parainfluenza) every 3β4 weeks, starting at around 6β8 weeks of age and continuing until about 16 weeks or older. Rabies vaccination is required by law in most US states, usually from around 12β16 weeks, depending on local rules.
Your own veterinarian should continue the series on schedule. Until your vet says your puppy is protected, avoid places where many unknown dogs gather, such as dog parks.
Puppies are commonly dewormed several times when young. Ask your vet about continuing deworming and starting flea, tick and heartworm prevention suitable for your area.
Havanese are generally sturdy, long-lived little dogs (often 14β16 years). Like every breed, they have some conditions that owners and vets watch for. This is general breed information, not a description of any particular puppy:
Call your veterinarian promptly if your puppy is unusually tired or weak, stops eating, has repeated vomiting or diarrhea, trembles, has trouble breathing, or simply doesnβt seem right. Small puppies can go downhill quickly, so it is always better to check.
See our available Havanese puppies or send us the inquiry form. We will get in touch with you.
